This adventure brings to life Fremont’s exploits as he explores and maps the western trails.  As with the other “Adventure…” series books written by Natalie Hernandez, a young boy accompanies this controversial California pioneer on his trips to Oregon and California.  Along the way they become involved in helping California break away from Mexico.  They are swept up in the gold rush and later fight in the Civil War.
