This book contains reports of the cities of Solano County including Benicia and Vallejo which were both briefly the State Capital, land grants including a translation of Suisun Indian Chief Solano's application to the Mexican Government for a grant of land, and early Mare Island history including Captain David Farragut's appointment as first Commandant of Mare Island Naval Shipyard-among other interesting stories.
